The leadership of the South-South zonal Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has lifted the suspension earlier slammed on the South-South zonal Acting Secretary of the Party, Barr. George Turnah by the Bayelsa state Working Committee of the PDP on the grounds of alleged misconduct.
It could be recalled that the Bayelsa state Working Committee of the PDP led by the state Chairman, Mr. Solomon Aguana and other executive members at the weekend announced the suspension of George Turnah.

Not satisfied with Turnah’s suspension, the PDP Ward executive members of Ogbia Ward-9 in Ogbia local government Area where George Turnah hails from held a press conference on Monday, condemning the suspension as illegal.
They also threatened to leave the PDP in droves if the said suspension was not reverted.

However, the South-South zonal Working Committee of the PDP on Tuesday announced the setting aside of the suspension of George Turnah from the party and reinstated him.
The lifting of the suspension was contained in a public notice signed by the Organizing Secretary of the South-South zonal working committee, Arch. Ekom Akonjom.
The public notice reads: “the Nigerian public is hereby notified that the zonal working committee, South-South zone of the peoples democratic party met today (Tuesday) at 8:am 18th February 2025 and considered an appeal brought by its Acting Secretary George Turnah (MON) on his suspension by the Bayelsa state working committee of the PDP.

“Consequently, the suspension of George Turnah is hereby set aside and lifted by the powers conferred on the zonal working committee of the party, South-South zone.
