Partial lockdown begins in Bayelsa

Bayelsa State governor, Senator Douye Diri has said that markets will remain open in the state, but at the same time directed the residents to remain at home. This directive is to last for the next one week.

Last week, Diri had locked down the entire state. But on Monday, in reviewing the lockdown order, directed that the residents could engage in trading activities, but that they must wear face masks and observe social distancing.

He also adopted the directive of the federal government on a dusk to dawn curfew, beginning from Monday. Diri also said “churches to hold services- big churches should have maximum of 50 persons while small churches should not have more than 20 persons.”
