Tuesday’s visit by Nyesom Wike to the new chairman of the APC, Dr Abdulahi Ganduje is being understood to mean the beginning of his movement into the ruling party.
There have been insinuations that Wike is actually on his way out of the PDP, the party he spent time and resources to build while he was governor of Rivers State.
With him at Ganduje’s home for the visit were some of his die-hard followers and political disciples, including a former senator, Olaka Nwogu, from Eleme.
The visit was said to be a congratulatory message. But Wike’s reason for visiting the chairman of another political party for the purpose of congratulating him on his emergence is what social media commentators are not able to understand.
TNN learnt that the PDP is mulling some disciplinary actions against him, but are not able to carry out the action because Wike still has very faithful loyalists in the leadership cadre of the PDP. A source confided in TNN that the former governor will be axed the moment a new leadership structure is set up in the PDP.
