Beauty Queen Make Case For Women, Teenage Girls

Miss Bayelsa 2021, Queen Biobelemoye Ghandi has called for more women representation in all sectors of society not maligned to homes only.
Ghandi made the call while speaking with selected young female leaders in public function to mark this year’s International Women’s Day in Yenagoa, capital of Bayelsa State.
According to the beauty queen, to bring true change in society, women should be given their proper place in governance and politics adding that the present condition is not favourable and will lead to more deprivation and neglect.
She noted that when policies and programmes affecting women are brought to the table of policy makers, there few or no women to make quality inputs on such policies.
The Beauty Queen opined that there is need for women’s representation that reflects all women and girls in all their diversity and abilities, and across all cultural, social, economic and political situations.

She emphasized that this is the only way we will get real societal change, where women are incorporated in the decision-making process to promote equality and fairness that will be beneficial to all.
Citing the important role women play, the beauty queen pointed out that when women lead, we see positive results pointing out that some of the most efficient and exemplary responses to the COVID-19 pandemic were led by women.
She commended all the women, especially young women, at the forefront of diverse and inclusive movements online and on the streets for social justice, climate change and equality in all parts of the world.
