Group Applauds Bassey For His Service To Humanity

Senator representing Cross River South at the national assembly, Gershom Bassey has received a commendation letter from a group under the aegis of Southern Cross River Ward Chairmen Forum of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

In the letter disclosed to TNN, the group was delighted at his humanitarian services to members of his constituency and for his selfless services to the people of Cross River state.
It reads in part: “On behalf of the PDP Ward Chairmen in Cross River Southern Senatorial District in Cross River State wishes to show our deepest appreciation to the Senator Representing Cross River Southern Senatorial District in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Distinguished Senator Gershom Bassey and his amiable wife, Dr. (Mrs) Chioma Gershom Bassey for facilitating a technical training for youths across your immediate constituency which lasted for 5 days (January 11th-15the, 2021) by the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) on installation and maintenance of solar street lights and inverters, where (we) the Ward Chairmen were fully captured and subsequently provided with a grant for take-off.
“The training was not only timely and unique, but impactful, beneficial and informative as well as empowerment driven, especially now where skills acquisition is an alternative palliative measure to reduce the high rate of unemployment in the country occasioned by the trending and ravaging COVID-19.
“The message of appreciation would never be perfect without recognizing your contributions at the floor of the house and your numerous empowerment programmes for your constituents, these include facilitation of jobs, trainings (home and abroad), facilitation of loans from Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN), provision of social amenities to hard-to-reach areas & rural dwellers such as solar lights and boreholes, construction of classroom blocks, market shops,health facilities and provision of alternative means of livelihood as well as other projects that seeks to ameliorate poverty and thus making life meaningful to us, among others.
