Natives and residents of Igbu Akoh in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, have commended the state Police command and other security agencies over the killing of Mr. Gift David Okpara popularly known as 2Baba.

Recall that in a release on Monday, the Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, through the Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, announced that 2Baba and his lieutenants died after they escaped from the raid on his camp by security agencies last Saturday.

2Baba has been on the wanted list following his involvement in the gruesome murder of the Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Police Division, Bako Angbashin.

Commending the state Police and other security agencies, the Public Relations Officer of Igbu Akoh Youth Congress, Mr. Hector Ekeakita, in an interview with newsmen said; “We the Igbu Akoh Youth body, we are very happy. We want to give kudos to the Nigerian Police, the Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu and other security agencies for their tireless effort from the 16th of February to 18th February, making sure that David Gift Mighty and his cohorts were been brought down.

“We are so happy. We the Igbu Akoh youth will not also relent to work with the security agencies, we will not also relent to encourage the security agencies in Rivers State, in making sure that we give them the necessary support and information on the whereabout of the remaining remnants of David Gift Mighty aka 2Baba since he has been gunned down.

“We are so much happy. We know that peace will gradually return to part of Igbu Akoh and also some part of Ekpeye. We also urge some of the youths who are also putting stubborn head in carrying guns, carrying arms and killing innocent people in Ekpeye to desist.

“We are also pleading that the Commissioner of Police and other security agencies should not stop the investigation of others and their sponsors, so that others will not take off from where 2Baba stopped, because if they don’t go into investigation of the sponsors somebody else will still start from where 2Baba stopped.

“We will not get tired supporting the security agencies. We need peace in Ekpeye. Without peace there is no development, no prosperity. We also commend Inspector General of Police that the prime suspect who killed Superintendent of Police(SP) Bako Angbashin has been brought down.

“We also want to tell the elites, paramount rulers to toe the line of peace and follow the call of see something say something. This is the time for internal security in Ekpeye to minimize high rate of killing and cultism in the land”.
