South-South Coordinator of The Asiwaju Group and chieftain of the APC in Bayelsa State, Pastor Reuben Wilson has urged Nigerians at home and abroad to pray for the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, instead of speaking evil of him.

Wilson, a former Niger Delta freedom fighter said in an interview that church leaders in the country should see Tinubu as a leader from God because “if God did not ordain Tinubu, there is no way he would have won.

“He is God’s chosen at this time. We are enjoined as Christians to pray for our leaders. This is what we own our president-elect. To use our mouth to destroy him is not the best thing and this is not what God expects from us.”

The graduate of political science said Tinubu would wipe away the tears of Nigerians from the first day of his swearing-in. He said it was unfortunate that some Nigerians had formed wrong opinions about the president, noting that Tinubu was the best thing to happen to Nigeria at this time.

“Some of us saw ahead and had to do everything to make sure that Tinubu won. People have asked why I decided to stake everything for Tinubu’s election and my simple answer is that as a pastor, I have the grace to see ahead and I knew that Tinubu was the one that God wanted as our president.

“Come to think of it, did it not shock you that the PDP had to quarrel and split, with Governor Nyesom Wike leading one group of governors? If this did not happen, perhaps Tinubu would not have won.

“God has a way of arranging things. God loves this country; so he wants the man that will fix this country to get into the helm of affairs. My plea is that everyone should pray for our president-elect. I believe that our prayers will go a long way to help him fix this country. I believe that with Tinubu, there are better days ahead for this country.”
