Ndoro Community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa state has been thrown into mourning after a middle aged woman (name withheld) was found dead in her home in the early hours of Friday, February 20, 2026 with her throat reportedly removed.
According to local sources, the attack occurred overnight after the victim allegedly went to sleep without locking her door.
Residents of the community said an unidentified persons gained access to the house and carried out the dastardly act and fled to unknown destinations.
A video circulating among residents is said to show the aftermath of the incident, with voices speaking in the Ijaw language, describing what they believed to be the removal of parts of the victim’s throat by the assailants.
The tragic incidence is said to have elicited apprehension community community members with residents urging one another to remain vigilant and to take basic security precautions, including locking their doors inwards and monitoring suspected movements in their neighborhood.
This incidence is coming barely few days after suspected cultists beheaded a rival cult member at Igbogene Community, in Yenagoa local government area of the state.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations officer of the Bayelsa state Police Command, DSP Musa Mohammed confirmed the incidence, stating that no suspect had been arrested.
He added that the police were on the trail of the assailants while investigation was ongoing.
