C’River Rep Joins Army Chief In Thanksgiving

As Nigerians join the immediate family of the Chief of Defence Intelligence, CDI, Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Undiandeye, in thanksgiving on Saturday, the member representing Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Dr Alex Egbona, has expressed gratitude to God for preserving the Army chief.

In an interview on Friday, Egbona Undiandeye had become a source of inspiration for the younger generation of the Nigerian military and a reliable ally in the nation’s intelligence gathering efforts as the country fights against insecurity.

“I am very proud of Undiandeye’s strides as an Army chief from my state. He has served this country with all his might and deserves all our prayers. Reall that of all the service chiefs that were dropped the last time by Mr President, he was the only that was untouched.

“That decision my President Bola Ahmed Tinubu speaks to Undiandeye’s capacity and competence. It speaks to the level of trust that Mr president has on his ability to deliver on set goals in the fight against insurgency and insecurity generally.

“This is not a mean feat and we return all thanks to God for making it happen. I do not only congratulate him for the feat he has attained in the military so far, but I also join his family in thanking God on this success story.”
Undiandeye was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General in late October 2025. • He is recognized as the first Chief of Defense Intelligence (CDI) to be promoted to the rank of a 3-star General (Lieutenant General).
Despite a shake-up in the top military hierarchy by Tinubu in late October 2025, where new service chiefs were appointed, Undiandeye was retained in his position, signalling confidence in his leadership.
