President of the Seventh-day Day Adventist, SDA, church in Eastern Nigeria Union Conference, ENUC, Pastor Bassey Udoh has admonished newly elected leadership of the Church in Cross River Conference to make mission their top priority. He lamented that the world was languishing in sin and disobedience to God which should be a concern to every child of God to ensure that people are saved from the enemy of souls.
Udoh gave the admonition while preaching at the second quadrennial constituency session of Cross River Conference, CRC, of the church. He tasked the newly elected leaders and the entire membership of the church not to lose focus of the gospel commission owing to the fact that the end of the world is at hand. He added that unfolding events are signalling the soon return of Jesus Christ. He said it was in line with this that made the church chose her theme this period as “I will go”.
The president charged the women and men ministries department of the church to go beyond uniform, conventions, meetings and retreats and invest more on evangelism which is the major mission of the church. He also encouraged those who may not have the time to go out for mission to invest their resources and support missionaries who a willing to go.
Responding shortly after the consecration service, the newly elected president for Cross River Conference, Pastor Edy Ewoh enjoined members of the conference to join forces so as to
move the course of God in the conference to enviable heights. The president who will spearhead the affairs of the conference in the next four years charged everyone to drop their differences and join hands to ensure that the gospel message gets to all the nooks and crannies of the state.
