Those wishing to be part of the next cabinet in Cross River State may have to wait a little longer, our findings have revealed.
TNN learnt that the governor, Prof Ben Ayade is not in a hurry to name his new set of commissioners. Sources said the expected list may not come in the next one month.
As at Monday, it was not clear if the delay may be connected with the pending tribunal case. But the governor has named some task forces and has also appointed some special advisers and personal assistants, including heads of some agencies.
Last week, a fake list of commissioners went viral on the social media, prompting the Special Adviser to Cross River State Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Christian Ita to issue a statement disassociating himself from the list.
In it, he said has asked members of the public to disregard a purported list of commissioners circulating in the social media “His Excellency, Sir Ben Ayade is yet to nominate commissioners. Whenever he does that, it will be communicated to the people of Cross River through the proper channels.
“The press release containing list of nominees purportedly signed by me and currently circulating in the social media is therefore, fake and should be disregarded.”
Meanwhile, three women have so far made the list of 24 special advisers appointed by the governor. this came about three months after taking the oath of office for his second term as governor.
