All is now set for the ordination of the Rev Imo Umanah, General Overseer of the King’s Faith Assembly, Port Harcourt. The ordination is to be done by Archbishop Idem Ikon of the Revival Valley Ministries, Calabar, with the assistance of other archbishops.
The event is scheduled to hold at the church premises, along the Pipelines axis of Rumuoghalu, Port Harcourt on November 29, and will attract prominent gospel singers and clerics, including an international singer, Aity Dennis Inyang who is expected to perform.
Umanah will be the first to be ordained a bishop from the Ikot Udo Obobo village, Ukanafun Local Government. Before founding the King’s Assembly, he had served under the late Bishop Elija Mboho, at the Gospel Village, Abak.
He had also served briefly under Dr Uma Ukpai, who passed on recently. But he spent much of his pastoral years at the Revival Valley Ministries, Calabar, where he was once the music director, before the call into full time Christian ministry.
Known for his extraordinary integrity and teaching grace, Umanah was once a footballer with the defunct Post and Telecommunications (P and T) Football Club, as well as the then Rafia Football Club-Ikot Ekpene.
He graduated from the University of Calabar, but decided to abandon his academic certificate to serve God on full time basis. His wife, Aidy, a radio programme host on Radio Nigeria, Port Harcourt, would be ordained an apostle on the same day.
