Accord Party Gets Guber Candidate For Bayelsa Polls

The Accord Party has elected Pastor Ebizimo Diriyai as its gubernatorial flagbearer for the November 16 governorship election in Bayelsa state.
Diriyai, who hails from Kaiama town in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government area of the state, emerged through a voice vote.
National youth leader of the party, Alhaji Abdulraman Mohammed who conducted the election said the voice vote system was adopted because there was only one aspirant, explaining that it was in line with the constitutional guidelines of the party.
While congratulating the standard bearer on his emergence, the party leader enjoined Bayelsans to support his candidacy, stressing that AP represented oneness and progress.
State chairman of the party, Mr. Victor Fisi described the flagbearer as a true Bayelsan who would rescue the state from poverty to the realm of prosperity.
He urged Bayelsans to massively queue behind AP, stating that it was the only party to rescue Bayelsa state from the claws of underdevelopment.
Responding, the AP candidate thanked members of his party for choosing him, noting that if voted as governor, he would make Bayelsa to bear her real name, the glory of all lands.
“We are going to reintroduce the bursary system and give free and compulsory education up to secondary level and use agriculture to create wealth and employment for our people” he said.
