A Port Harcourt based firm, the Capital Portfolio & Investment Systems (CAPIS) Limited, which is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC, has created an opportunity for Nigerians to benefit from its investment ecosystem.
A statement from the company said clients who register under what has been described as the CAPIS Commonwealth Card, 3C, will qualify to become stakeholders and will reap from proceeds accruing from the various projects undertaken by the firm across key sectors of the economy. The 3C initiative seeks to address a familiar economic challenge: while commercial activities create opportunities across agriculture, renewable energy, transportation, technology, shopping and commercial infrastructure, many people lack a structured pathway to participate in them.
From expanding agricultural systems and renewable energy projects to transportation infrastructure, automated car-washing systems, shopping centres and technology-enabled enterprises, economic opportunities continue to emerge. Through 3C, CAPIS seeks to connect eligible clients with qualifying opportunities through a defined process for project evaluation, bidding and financing facilitation.

Under the Individual Plan, eligible clients can access the 3C platform with a one-time platform access fee of ₦35,000. The plan provides access to a financing voucher of up to ₦30 million, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
CAPIS clarifies that the ₦30 million financing voucher is not cash deposited into a client’s bank account. Rather, it represents financing capacity that may be applied towards qualifying commercial project participation opportunities available through the platform.

Access to the voucher does not automatically guarantee financing, project selection or income. Financing facilitation is subject to the acceptance of a client’s bid, satisfaction of the applicable conditions and the requirements of the relevant commercial project.
The Commercial Project Bidding pathway is central to the 3C model. It provides a structured process through which eligible clients can identify opportunities, assess project requirements and submit bids for participation.
The process begins with the client identifying a qualifying project and reviewing the opportunity, including its participation requirements, commercial structure and applicable terms and conditions.

Once satisfied with the opportunity, the client submits a bid through the platform. Submitted bids are assessed against the applicable selection criteria, which may include enrolment seniority, bid timing and project-specific requirements.
A submitted bid is not automatically accepted. Where a bid is selected and the relevant conditions are fulfilled, CAPIS facilitates the applicable financing, enabling the client to participate under the structure and terms of the selected project.
This approach is intended to establish a defined pathway from identifying an opportunity to pursuing participation in a real commercial activity.
An important feature of the 3C model is the relationship between participation and the performance of the underlying commercial project.
The financing voucher provides a potential route to participation; it is not, in itself, a source of income. Where a qualifying project operates successfully and generates commercial surplus, participants may receive applicable income distributions in accordance with the project’s defined commercial surplus distribution ratio and the relevant contractual terms.
Consequently, potential income is linked to the commercial performance of the underlying project rather than merely to possession of a 3C card or access to a financing voucher.
As with commercial activities generally, projects may face operational, market and other business risks. Project selection and participation therefore require careful consideration of the relevant terms, conditions and risks.
In addition to its commercial participation framework, the 3C ecosystem is designed to offer eligible clients access to other benefits, subject to the applicable programme terms.
These include health coverage benefits, a Zenith Bank-powered electronic wallet and virtual card, and lifestyle benefits such as discounts of up to 10 per cent at participating partner outlets.
The electronic wallet and virtual card facilities are intended to support the wider service ecosystem, while partner discounts provide additional value through participating businesses.
The availability, eligibility requirements and scope of these benefits are governed by the applicable terms and the arrangements with the relevant service providers and participating partners.
The CAPIS Commonwealth Card also provides a Contract Financing pathway for clients whose commercial needs are better suited to contract-related financing opportunities.
This pathway operates alongside Commercial Project Bidding, which focuses on participation in qualifying projects developed or made available through the CAPIS platform.
The two pathways serve different commercial needs. Clients are therefore encouraged to understand the requirements and implications of each option before making a selection, in accordance with the platform’s applicable rules.
The central proposition of the CAPIS Commonwealth Card is that access to economic opportunities should be accompanied by a structured process for pursuing participation.
The process is straightforward: identify an opportunity, understand the project, submit a bid, undergo assessment and, where selected and eligible, proceed with financing facilitated by CAPIS. The participant then engages with the underlying commercial project, with any applicable income distribution dependent on the project’s performance and governing terms.
The initiative is not presented as a promise of overnight wealth or guaranteed financial returns. Instead, it is positioned as a platform access service through which eligible clients can explore qualifying commercial projects, seek participation and access associated benefits.
By linking financing capacity with identifiable commercial activities, CAPIS aims to create a more structured connection between individuals and opportunities across productive sectors of the economy.
The broader message behind 3C is that economic participation can extend beyond observing commercial growth to exploring practical, structured ways of becoming involved in it.
For prospective clients, the question is no longer simply, “What opportunities are happening around me?”
It is also: “What opportunities could I participate in if I had access?”
