The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Bayelsa State has begun the display of the National Register of Voters (NRV) and distribution of Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) to eligible voters who applied between August and December, 2025.
This was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Utong, Awajionyi Christian,
Head of Department, Voter Education, Publicity, Gender and Inclusivity
on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Bayelsa State.
According to the statement, the collection exercise is for those who registered or applied for transfer of their voting locations during the first phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise conducted between August to December, 2025.
It says the exercise started on Friday 9th October and will end on Thursday, 15th October, 2026, from 9:00 am to 3:00pm daily, Saturday and Sunday inclusive in the 105 Wards across Bayelsa State.
“Be informed also that starting from Friday, 16th October 2026, collection of PVCs will be at the INEC LGA Offices in the Eight (8) LGAs of Bayelsa State.
“Voters who registered since 2011 – 2022 and in any of the Continuous Voter Registration exercises and did not collect their PVCs, can also visit the LGA offices for collection.
“Voters are advised to check their names on the displayed Registers (NRV) and verify their polling units, while those who participated in the first phase of the CVR are advised to visit the collection centres in their respective RAs/WARDs to collect their PVCs in person, presenting their registration slip/print out for verification.
“This is in strict compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026. PVC collection by proxy will not be permitted.
“The Commission urges all eligible voters to take advantage of the opportunity to verify their polling units and/or collect their PVCs ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The Commission appreciates the public’s patience and understanding, especially from the eligible voters who registered in either the second phase (January – April 2026) or the third phase (May – July 2026), as their PVCs are being processed for delivery to states as soon as possible.
“INEC is committed to ensuring that all eligible voters collect their PVCs before the general elections,” the statement added.
