Natives and residents have poured encomium on the member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, in the House of Representatives, Dr Unyime Idem, for revamping dilapidated schools and building new classroom blocks, offices in Akwa Ibom State.
They praised Idem on Wednesday, during the commissioning of the newly constructed and furnished classroom block with offices at QIC Primary School, Ibianga/Ikot-Ekpuk, in Oruk Anam Local Government Area of the state.
This initiative is happening less than six days after the reps member commissioned a newly constructed classroom block with offices at Government Primary School, Ikot Akpa Idem, in Ukanafun Local Government Area of the state.
The Oruk Anam project, constructed from ground up, was described as a reflection of Idem’s commitment to delivering on the promises he made to the people.
Speaking, the reps member noted that “from education and healthcare to infrastructure and human capital development, my focus has consistently been to attract tangible, life-touching dividends of democracy to our communities and improve the quality of life of our people.”
Idem who was represented by the Pioneer Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Amadu Attai, during the commissioning, “expressed deep gratitude to the people of Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency for their support, trust and confidence in me since I assumed office as their representative in the National Assembly.
“This support continues to strengthen my resolve to serve with humility, accountability and a clear sense of purpose.
“As we approach another electoral season, I respectfully asked our people to look beyond political rhetoric and consider the record of service before us. Our achievements are visible, our commitment is unwavering, and our work is not yet finished.
“I also appealed to our people to continue to support the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming elections in order to strengthen the partnership required to attract more impactful projects, create opportunities for our young people and bring even greater dividends of democracy to every community.
“I also urged the people of Ibianga/Ikot Ekpuk to take ownership of this facility and protect it from vandalism. Government projects belong to the people, and their sustainability depends largely on the collective responsibility of the community.
“I was particularly encouraged by the commendation from community leaders and other stakeholders, who noted that the new facility will create a more conducive environment for teaching and learning. Their pledge of continued support is both humbling and deeply appreciated.”
