Excitement As Bayelsa Shines At 2026 NIPR Week

Bayelsa State has once again been placed on the global map for exhibiting its rich cultural heritage, as the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Week winds down after a week-long programme which featured Public Relations Professionals across the African Continent.

The 2026 NIPR week with the theme: ‘Nigeria’s Food Security: From Policy Paper to Public Plates- The Imperative of Public Relations’, was held at the Brigadier General Abba Kyari Banquet Hall, Kaduna recently commissioned by the Vice President of Nigeria, Sen. Kashim Shettima, signaling commencement of the NIPR 2026 Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Commending the Bayelsa NIPR Chapter Chairman, Dr. Ebiwari Wariowei and the entire Bayelsa contingent for their sterling performance during the plenary sessions and particularly the cultural display, the President of NIPR Nigeria, Mr. Ike Neliaku described team Bayelsa as the State with the best cultural outfit, best coordinated team as well as the best dancers, following their colourful showcasing of the owigiri dance steps.

On the Bayelsa delegation was the Chairman of the Bayelsa 2026 NIPR Local Organising Committee and head of Mass Communication Department, Niger Delta University, Dr. Anderson Nikade, The Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Zone 16, Gunn Ewhoborwo Emonena, the PPRO Bayelsa State Command, Musa Muhammed, Teilanyon Dirikon Iniebio, the Head of Corporate Communications NCDMB, among other notable members of Bayelsa NIPR professionals.
