NUJ Partners Medical Practitioners For Better Society

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in Bayelsa State has re-emphasized its commitment to partnering with institutions, groups and well meaning individuals to enhance societal well-being.

Chairman of the NUJ State Council, Comrade Tonye Yemoleigha made the emphasis when he received the Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre, Dr James Omietimi at the Ernest Ikoli Press Centre, Yenagoa ahead of this week’s Thursday FMC Yenagoa Charity and Gala billed for the Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall at 4:00pm

Dr James Omietimi hinted that the FMC Charity event is targeted at raising funds to advance healthcare infrastructure, acquire life saving equipment, and expand life-changing services at the Federal Medical Centre.

He said the NUJ remains a critical partner of the health sector hence the visit.

In his response, Comrade Tonye Yemoleigha further commended Omietimi and management of the FMC for the initiative, which he described as novel.

“The FMC is the melting point of health services in Bayelsa state and we in the media will give our support to initiatives that will improve quality health service delivery”, Yemoleigha said.

National Chairman, Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Ambassador Godknows Igali is to chair the event; while the State Traditional Rulers Council Chairman, King Bubaraye Dakolo is expected to be father of the day.
