Zone 16 Police Command Gets Permanent Headquarters

The Nigeria Police Trust Fund is set to commence construction of a permanent administrative building block for the Zone 16 Police headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.

Since its inauguration, the zonal command which is made up of Rivers and Bayelsa States has been occupying a rented apartment along the Isaac Boro Expressway in the state capital.

The command has now secured a site located along the Bayelsa Palm Road, Elebele in Ogbia local government area of the state.

A press statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Gunn Ewhobowho said the zone 16 permanent site is one of the series of projects earmarked for execution by the Nigerian police trust fund in Bayelsa State.

The statement commended the Bayelsa state Governor, Senator Douye Diri for allocating the piece of land for the zonal command.

In a brief site handover ceremony by the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria police trust fund, Mr Mohammed Sheidu who was represented by CSP Christian Diala to Khafadez Resources Ltd, the contractor handling the project, the executive secretary said the trust is determined to improving efficiency, welfare, and operational capacity of the Nigeria police force through such special interventions.
