As Bayelsa state prepares for the commissioning of life changing projects on Friday, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Senator Biobarakuma Degi has described the State governor, Senator Douye Diri as a record breaker in infrastructural development.
The former senator who represented Bayelsa East Senatorial District in the 9th Senate made the statement while chatting with newsmen on the ongoing developmental strides in Bayelsa state under the prosperity government of governor Diri.
Baring any sudden change plan, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be in Bayelsa state on Friday to commission the much talked about 60-megawatt independent electricity project in Yenagoa and a 630-mitre Angiama-Oporoma bridge in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.
Degi noted that apart from the gas turbine, the Angiama-Oporoma bridge and the government house bypass road due for inauguration by the President, there are numerous other signature projects being executed by governor Diri to improve transportation and boost economic activities as well as public service efficiency across the state.
The former deputy governor-elect made particular ference to the ongoing Nembe-Brass road which had been on the drawing board since the military era of Gen. Yakubu Gowon in the early 70s.
The Nembe born politician commended governor Diri who has begun construction of the road through the difficult swampy forest amidst several bridges to hit Brass Island and other coastal communities along the Atlantic Ocean.
Degi further noted that when completed, the Nembe-Brass road which covers critical national oil and gas assets and also connects the Brass oil and gas export terminal will guarantee transformed transport system and effective coordination of security surveillance with attendant improvement in oil and gas revenue production.
