The Rivers State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Mr Moses Oleghe, has cautioned corps members participating in the bye election for Ahoada East 11 and Khana 11 constituencies, holding February 21, 2026.
Oleghe charged them to be absolutely neutral and see their participation as a national assignment that must be conducted selflessly.
The NYSC boss stated this while addressing the corps members during a three days intensive training in preparation for the election.
Oleghe stressed that they must “uphold highest sense of integrity, honesty, moral uprightness and self-dignity in your conduct before, during, and after the election.
“You must be absolutely neutral and see your participation in the election as a national assignment that must be conducted with patriotism, selflessness, and sacrifice for a greater Nigeria.
“Do what is right and be security conscious, especially when it is considered that their life and safety can not be equated with the outcome of the election.
“Carry your own food and water, have your phones fully charged with airtime, keep the phone numbers of security agencies handy, and avoid any form of confrontation with thugs in case of a threat.”
