The bad portions on Itigidi Bridge which are becoming a threat to motorists would soon be fixed by the federal government, says Dr Alex Egbona, the member representing Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Egbona said in an interview on Friday that after personally visiting the bridge, he had to send a federal government delegation to assess the bridge as a prelude to the beginning of repair works.
He said: “The Itigidi bridge will soon be fixed. A team of engineers have already visited the place and have turned in their report. It is in the interest of our people for the bridge to be repaired. We don’t want any negative occurrence on the bridge.
“I appreciate all the reactions and messages of commendations so far. I have noticed that the action is already creating excitement everywhere. This is why you sent me to Abuja and by the grace of God, I will do more.”
Egbona said he was committed to everything that would bring development to his constituency and thanked the people for their prayers and support.
