The Akwa Ibom State governor, Udom Emmanuel has rejected the list of three projects supervisor per ward, sent to him by PDP stakeholders across the state.
It was speculated that in addition to the personal assistants and special/senior special assistants to the governor, Udom would inaugurate another three loyalists per ward across the state, with a monthly salaries of N150,000
To this end, PDP stakeholders across the 31 local government areas of the state had compiled the names and forwarded it to the governor’s office for approval and employment, but in a dramatic reverse, our correspondent gathered that the governor recently rejected the lists and dropped the idea.
Checks showed that the nominees had already prepared for their inauguration and had heaved a sigh of relief from chronic unemployment, which had bedeviled the state.
A governor’s media aide, while responding to questions from our correspondent said the governor’s action was proper in view of the huge projects and other financial involvement of the state government.
According to him, the industrialization project and other investments of the present administration will address the problem of poverty and unemployment.
He called on political stakeholders to support the governor and contribute in their different ways to the realization of the Akwa Ibom project.
