Bayelsa PMAN Gets Governor-Elect

The Bayelsa state chapter of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) has conducted her governorship election with Prince Peres Ogbogbo emerging Governor-elect.
Ogbogbo defeated Calif Desifa and Tommy Ere to become governor-elect of PMAN to pilot the affairs of the music industry in the state while other positions were returned unopposed.
In his acceptance speech, the PMAN governor-elect, Ogbogbo who thanked members for voting him, promised that he would not abuse the confidence reposed in him.
Noting that he was no longer performing on stage but into promoting, managing and directing, the new PMAN boss promised to carry younger musical talents along with a view to encouraging them.
Identifying disunity as the major challenge bedeviling the music industry in the state, Ogbogbo promised to use his office to unite the association, adding that lack of unity had retarded progress in the entertainment organization in Bayelsa.
While commending Mr. Inetimi Alfred Odon, a Bayelsa born international musical maestro, popularly known as Timaya, for encouraging young talents in the state, Ogbogbo enjoined other spirited Bayelsans and corporate bodies to invest in the entertainment industry to empower gifted youths and also boost tourism in the state.
He also advised upcoming musicians to be dedicated to their studies and the musical profession which he described as a world of its own with boundless opportunities for greatness, urging them to shun immoralities and antisocial vices capable of killing their dreams.
