Even if Supreme Court Sacks Ayade, Joe Agi Won’t Be Sworn In - Ogar Egodo

There is so much tension in Cross River State ahead of the anticipated judgement of the Supreme Court in the case of alleged falsification of age filed against the governor, Prof. Ben Ayade by an aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 elections, Joe Agi (SAN). While some believe that Joe Agi has overwhelming evidence which may sack the governor from office, others say he is engaged in a wild goose chase which would not see the light of the day come December 9, when the apex court will deliver its final judgement on the matter. Will the apex court remove the governor from office or will it uphold the earlier decision of the lower courts? These are some of the questions our correspondent, UBONG INYANG put forward to a Calabar-based legal practitioner and commissioner in the state law reform commission, Chief Ogar Ndoma Egodo.

Between Multiple Taskforces And Ease Of Doing Business in Rivers

To residents of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, the nuisance that different shades of thugs, hooligans, and street urchins constitute in the city under the guise of taskforce is a well-known and ugly experience. Every part of the city has its own fair share of these nuisance peddlers. Either they are harassing motorists or molesting hapless citizens or impounding the wares of roadside traders. In all, the city is the worse off as their nefarious activities have helped upscale the difficulty in doing business in the state.
