Corps members serving in community secondary school Igbo-Etche, in Etche local government area of Rivers State are cautious of their safety, as fresh facts are unfolding with regard to the February 1st attack on Staff of the school, by suspected cult members. The attack was said to be masterminded by some members of the SSSI Class.

The Ayade-Udom Posture On NDDC

Penultimate week, at a security conference organised in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State at the instance of the Inspector-General of Police, the Akwa Ibom State governor, Udom Emmanuel was reported to have attacked the management of the NDDC for what he called the commission's shoddy jobs. At that event, Udom was quoted as saying “let me use this opportunity that the MD of NDDC is here to state clearly that NDDC does not own even a piece of land. “It is the governors that are in-charge of land.”

At Last, A Road For Sagbama/Ekeremor

For more than 40 years, the Sagbama-Ekeremor road in present-day Bayelsa State had been on the drawing board. Successive governments at the federal level only remembered to include the strategic senatorial road project in the national budget year after year but deliberately failed to mobilise contractors to site. The hopes of all the communities along that axis in Sagbama and Ekeremor local government areas were yearly raised and dashed. Of course, the excuse had been the usual difficult terrain for development while it is easy to extract the oil.
