The rift over a N 300,000 prayer fee between a Bayelsa pastor and a top federal government official is assuming a fresh dimension as Pastor Kenneth Jonathan has hired a lawyer in his efforts at recovering his money from the government official.
This came after Jonathan was accused of threatening to kill Mr. Ebi Campbell through a text message after the pastor was asked to vacate a two bedroom apartment which he had occupied free of charge for eight months.
In a letter of demand for payment of debt addressed to Mr. Campbell and signed by the pastor's lawyer, E. Boro dated May 23, 2016 with reference number WCA/VOL.12/126/2016, Campbell was advised to pay the sum of N303,000 directly to the pastor or to his counsel on or before June 30, 2016.
According to the pastor, he was invited by Mrs. Felicia Author Embikoro, Campbell's sister, to come and cure/heal him when he fell into a serious stroke in his house at Azikoro Village where negotiation on the amount was agreed on which he promised to pay after recovering from the sickness.
He also averred that Campbell with his own volition ordered him to occupy his house at Amarata behind OMPADEC, with release of the house keys as security or collateral pending when he pays the said agreed sum.
The pastor further revealed that sometime in January 2016, Campbell begged him to lend him N20,000 but that he managed to give him N3000 which he had not also refunded.
