Bayelsa Guber: Dickson' s Accusers Are Mischievous –Alabrah

Bayelsa Guber: Dickson' s Accusers Are Mischievous –Alabrah

Special Adviser to the governor of Bayelsa state on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Daniel Alabrah has said that it was mischievous for anyone to imagine that the governor, Seriake Dickson is the reason why governorship aspirants under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have not declared their interests officially.

The governor's aide spoke to TNN in a telephone conversation in Yenagoa on the sidelines of speculations making the rounds that the prospective PDP aspirants were waiting for Dickson's nod before making their interest known to the public.

According to Alabrah, his boss was too democratic to prevent any freeborn of Bayelsa state from exercising their civic rights in a party that is built on democratic principles.

Alabrah said "there are some things that shouldn't even arise in the first place. How could it be imagined that somebody will make up his mind that he wants to contest an election and it is the governor that is intimidating him not to declare his intention?

"Nobody is being intimidated anywhere. People follow elections timetable and  there is a period for declaration where aspirants make their intentions known to the public. If you follow what is happening on the social media, by now you would have seen aspirants whose foot soldiers have put up their names and are already doing all kind of things.

"Are you not seeing their pictures everywhere on the social media? Why should somebody be alleging that the PDP aspirants are being intimidated? Those issues shouldn't even arise because they have nothing to do with my boss.

"Let me tell you, when it could get to the governor endorsing anybody is when all these persons have emerged after they might have picked their interests and nomination forms. That's when people can begin to say that the aspirants are trying to get the governor's nod, not when they have not even said that they are contesting".

"This is a state where people live in rumours and half truth. When you try to put up the truth, they don't believe you, they believe in rumours. I don't understand why people reason like that.
