Assemblies of God Celebrates Mothering Sunday In Style

It was jubilation galore at the Assemblies of God Church 1, Agudama-Epie in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital on Sunday as the Women Ministry (WM) came out in their number to mark the 2019 Mothering Sunday in grand style.

Dressed in their elegant and colourful attires dominated by pepper-red tops, the women sang praises and danced to the glory of God.

Delivering a sermon on the topic: Heralding the Good News, wife of the resident Pastor and coordinator of the women ministry, Pst. (Mrs) Esther Onwutebe charged women to see themselves as carriers of the gospel of Christ.

Quoting from the book of Matthew 24:14 and other relevant portions of the Bible to buttress her sermon, Pst. (Mrs) Onwutebe enjoined the women and the entire church to use their lifestyle as instruments of evangelism.

"There is an urgency of preaching this good news. Those of us who say we have received Christ should preach the gospel to others because God has mandated us to preach the word", she added.

She used the medium to send a message of felicitation to the National Coordinator of the WM, Rev. (Mrs) Stella Okoroafor and the General Officers' Wives on the celebration of the 2019 mothering Sunday.

The resident pastor, the Rev. John Onwutebe, in an interview with TNN said the importance of the mothering Sunday could not be overstressed, describing the WM as a unifying factor and admonished all women in the church to identify with the body to build their spiritual lives.
