Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Zana Akpagu has approved the immediate suspension of a third year student of the department of education administration and planning from all academic activities in the university indefinitely.
According to a release signed by the university registrar, Mr. Moses Abang, the suspension of the student, Adeye Mathias Unimke with matrix no 16/063144861 was sequel to reports of his alleged involvement in secret cult related activities.
The release further directs that Unimke would remain suspended pending the conclusion of investigation by the institution's students disciplinary committee, emphasising that, he is to stay away from the campus except while responding to invitation by the Disciplinary Committee.
The vice chancellor had reiterated at various fora, that there was no room for cultist in the university. Consequently, the Head of Department of Educational Administration and Planning, and the Dean, Faculty of Education have been directed to ensure strict compliance.
