CRUTECH: The Making Of A New VC

The emergence of Prof Akon Joshua as the acting Vice Chancellor, Cross River University of Technology, Calabar has opened new  hopes  for the university. There has been an air of uncertainty of the leadership of the school.

Sound in character and disciplined as an urbane woman, she brings to bear a unique experience, even though her stint may be the shortest in the university's history. However, an overwhelming impact in several positions held within and outside the university not only sets her apart but gives clear signals that she would make difference.

A peep into her academic profile shows a rich experience. She is  a professor of educational psychology, a former deputy vice chancellor, academics, and a former dean, faculty of education in the university.

Born in 1959 in Idere, Odukpani Local Government, Cross River State, she got her primary education at  Idere/East Itam in 1971,Union Secondary School, Ibiaku 1976, School of Nursing, Ituk 1979,School of Midwifery, Calabar ,1982,The Polytechnic , Calabar 1985,University of Calabar, Calabar  1997, University of Calabar, Calabar 2002.
