Man Stabbed To Death For Pasting APC Posters In Rivers

For displaying the poster of an APC candidate on a street in Port Harcourt, a middle-aged man, Chimezie Dike has been stabbed to death.

TNN learnt that the slain Dike had been warned by a certain Henry Ekeozor, believed to be supportive of an opposition political party, when he was to paste the poster at 40b Azikiwe Street, Mile 2 Diobu.

An argument ensued between the duo. But Dike insisted that he could not be prevented from pasting the poster. The poster was said to be that of a candidate for the House of Representatives seat.

When passers by noticed that Dike had been brought down, they were said to have attempted to rush him to a nearby hospital. He died on the way, apparently as a result of excessive bleeding.

Police spokesman, Nnamdi Omoni who confirmed the story to TNN on Monday said investigations had already begun on the matter.
