Expectedly, prophets, pastors and apostles of Nigerian stock have come up with what they believe will be the shape of things in 2019. While some of the predictions are comforting and edifying, many others are scary and shocking.
In some cases, there are conflicts in the prophecies and in other cases, more than two of the prophecies hinge on same revelations.
For example, while Prophet Ekong Ituen of the Christ Deliverance Ministry in Lagos predicted that President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC will win the 2019 election, Apostle Johnson Suleman of the Omega Power Ministries, Auchi, Edo State gave a contrary prophecy.
Suleman's prediction almost tallied with that of the leader and founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Ejigbo Lagos, Primate Elijah who said that if Atiku Abubakar of the PDP worked closely with the senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki, he would win the presidential election.
Ayodele also said the APC was good to win in Cross River and Ebonyi states. According to him, the PDP was not serious in those states.
There were a few predictions that were made by more than two of the prophets: that a former president, Ibrahim Babangida will die in the course of 2019, that there will be a plane crash, that there would be multiple marriages and child births, that a sitting governor will die, that some top politicians will be jailed, that Biafra campaign will gain more support.
From Calabar, the presiding Bishop of Calabar-based Christian Central Chapel International, Bishop Emmah Isong, says the plot to scheme Igbo out of the 2023 presidential race was imminent.
According to him, “The people of the Igbo race need to take the case of 2023 spiritual or else there is a grand plan to scheme them out even in 2023. And that plan starts from this January. People have started planning for 2023 while some of you are still sleeping.”
The cleric also said “the issue of Jubril in Aso Rock shall come to an end in 2019. This issue is finally nailed by a hired Sudanese journalist. Detail to detail. No mistake.”
He said under age voting would mar the 2019 elections which would attract condemnation from the international community. ”In the midst of this because of prayers, the Lord is sending to Nigeria a Moses,” he said.
Bishop Isong also revealed that “Governor Ben Ayade will be given a hot challenge, never has he fought such battle in his life. But this will wake up the lion in him.”
He said “Enugu shall have great influence and we pray that nothing that is formed in Enugu now shall divide this nation. On the 11th of August, there is likely to be an event that will turn around the national politics. 2019 shall be spent in handling the case of Biafra. Suddenly there is a change of argument against Biafra, even by the Igbo leaders.”
He warned that “a certain plague of sickness shall be released into the air across West and East Africa, especially Nigeria is being warned by the United Nations. It is like cough, but it is more dangerous than ebola.”
The cleric called for prayers for former military president, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida and a former governor of Akwa Ibom state.
“Babangida will need attention and prayers in 2019. Pray also for the former governor of Akwa Ibom state, Architect Victor Attah, who has just celebrated his beautiful birthday. He also needs prayers and attention,” he said.
