A socio-political group, Progressive Women Front (PWF) Calabar South, has drummed up support for the political ambition of Senator Owan Enoh in 2019.
The group led by the Calabar South coordinator, Mrs Abigail Emmanuel Ekeng, stormed the home of the senator at Federal Housing Estate in Calabar Thursday.
The group, which is also an NGO affiliated to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stormed the senator's street amidst frenzied drumming, singing and dancing by a brass band and the members.
Members of the group sang praises of the senator along with the brass band and urged the senator to run for any office of his choice in 2019 and that they were solidly behind him.
According to Mrs Ekeng, “we are here to express our support for him. Our group is a socio-political group affiliated to our party, the APC.”
Asked by TNN if the senator had finally made up his mind on whether to return to the senate or to vie for the governorship seat, she said: “We are not to decide the position he is to vie for. But our advice is that when you are seeking an elective position, you have to seek God first and anywhere God directs you, we are to support you.
“Like our slogan says: 'PWF: Time to move and the time is now'. We believe in the now. It is not who went there first or who went last. We believe that when it is your time God will surely back you up.”
Senator Owan Enoh representing the Central Senatorial District in Cross River State, has been waiting for divine direction on which of the two elective positions he is to vie for in the 2019 election, the senate seat or the governorship seat.
