Suspected cult groups are on the prowl in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital with no fewer than 12 deaths recorded in the last three days.
TNN gathered that a young man identified as Peter Jeremiah, popularly known as " boy o boy" who is suspected to be a member of one of the cult groups was murdered on Tuesday at Yenezuegene Epie, Yenagoa.
Investigations revealed that the late Peter had gone to the Yenezuegene beach, a popular rendezvous for youths in the area, located across the Epie creek where he was attacked by gunshots and several machete cuts all over his body.
TNN further gathered that another suspected and unidentified cult member was shot the previous day while other members of his gang sustained various degrees of injuries in a related reprisal, all in the same community.
In the same vein, a lady identified as Uche was reportedly shot dead near Samphino, Kpansia in the state capital on Monday by the cultists.
At Amarata community in Yenagoa metropolis, the cult boys also struck on Tuesday, killing a youth yet to be identified and injuring several others.
Similar attacks were reportedly carried out at Ekeki, Okaka and other communities in the state capital within the week, leaving residents in panic and fear as they go about their businesses.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Asinim Butswat could not respond to reported call as at the time of filling the report.
