There is a universal aphorism that a house divided against itself cannot stand. This is may be the case with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State which is in disarray as the party's leaders are at loggerheads over personal political ambitions and the desire to control the party. The supremacy battle may take its toll on the party's chances in the 2019 general elections, particularly the governorship race. For a party that is in the opposition in the state, the inability to forge a common front ahead of the general elections may be the party's greatest undoing. This is moreso because of its much touted desire to overthrow the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
